Automation
Ideally only 3% of the people have to work. <ref> http://dotsub.com/view/aa14042d-a091-44c0-861f-1d2acefb7c4f/viewTranscript/eng?timed=true Jacque Fresco in Zeitgeist: Moving Forward</ref> For the RBE10K Project that would mean 300 people would be involved in maintenance and other tasks. Automation is important because it can free up time for education, but it is also expensive, as can be seen in the example of Cybernated Farm Systems on this page.
Cybernated Farm Systems
This system can provide fish and vegetables for 625 people, for 1 million dollar, for 40 years. For 10,000 people this would cost 16 million, out of a total budget of 120 million. Exactly how many calories per person the system produces (part of daily needs or full daily needs) doesn't follow out of the business plan.<ref> http://cyberfarmsystems.com/portal//uploads/cfsbusinessplan.pdf</ref> Fish and vegetables could maximally consist 6,5 out of 20,5 servings <ref> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:USDA_Food_Pyramid.gif </ref> total food cost at this rate (if other sources of food have similar costs) would be 50 million if the system produces part of total caloric needs or 16 million if the system produces full caloric needs.
